Smoking Tiger Coffee & Bread in Buena Park feels like a neighborhood hub where coffee enthusiasts and casual browsers cross paths. This spot blends the ease of a coffee shop with the inviting warmth of a bakery, making it a natural stop for anyone who values thoughtful drinks alongside artisanal baked goods.

The vibe here leans into calm productivity—many visitors are locals quietly working or studying, drawn by reliable WiFi, accessible power outlets, and ample seating both indoors and out. You’ll often find people settling in with laptops or headphones, carving out a quiet afternoon to sip thoughtfully crafted coffee. Despite the steady buzz of customers, the atmosphere stays surprisingly peaceful.

The menu stands out for its creative edge, especially if you enjoy exploring beyond the usual coffee fare. The “Banana Kick” packs a tropical twist, while seasonal choices like the Mrs Claus Latte with oat milk and herbal-inspired Ssuk (mugwort) Latte offer delicate layers of flavor that hint at the café’s attention to detail. For food, the bakery portion shines with croissants layered just right—the Bacon Maple Croissant and Green Tea Matcha Croissant are solid picks when you want something flaky but not overly sweet. Their garlic sweet potato bread and sweet potato mochi add a comforting, homey touch that sets the bakery apart from your usual pastry counter.

This spot is particularly appealing if you appreciate being able to review ingredient lists easily, as they offer a QR code system that helps guests with dietary restrictions or allergies. It’s also a place where the staff’s friendliness contributes to the welcoming feel, making it an approachable destination for newcomers and regulars alike.

Best times to visit are mid-morning to mid-afternoon on weekdays, when the café hosts remote workers and local creatives looking for a quiet but not empty setting. Weekends can be livelier, with more customers coming through to enjoy both coffee and the variety of baked goods. Given its location near busy Beach Blvd, it’s a practical pit stop for locals or visitors coming from appointments in the area, as seen by the steady crowd flow and ease of access.

In summary, Smoking Tiger feels like a place rooted in community rhythm—a solid choice if you want more than just a caffeine hit, but also a space to linger with well-crafted pastries and an approachable, calm environment.

New favorite coffee shop! Starting off with the Strawberry Matcha Latte - matcha wasn't bitter, and the Strawberry wasn't overly sweet, with both flavors balancing out. Now onto their pastries...some of the lightest scones I've ever eaten. Their garlic bread is , and their croissants are made really well, with great layers in the croissants. Their kouign amann is made with various creams and were *chef's kiss*

My fave spot! It has the most bread, merch and goodies out of all the other locations. Love the vibe and service. Didn't even know this place was here and it seems to be an OG based on the history of the area and the way the building looks. Tasty matcha and amazing coffee! Wish they still had some scones but I got there later in the day will def come back here, it's worth the drive!

Stopped here after a dental appointment right next door. Seemed to be buzzing with silence despite numerous people working with laptops and headphones on. I was in a state of disappointment from the previous night's cheesecake offering at a different restaurant. I find myself searching for a "revenge" or "do-over" from that experience. Happy to report the jiggly cheesecake here delivered on expectations: soft and not too heavy , with a nicely burnt top ala Basque style. Also got a honey cinnamon scone, A "pop tart" - a flattened crisp croissant topped with frosting and thin smear of jelly, And slice of banana bread to snack upon. Same name bakery located close to home which I should try sometime. Courteous and friendly "barista" made my peach fizz with less puree since I wanted less sweetness. Will be back to try other coffee with more pastries.

I tried the Tiger latte, and it was surprisingly tasty, though I found it slightly too sweet for my liking. On the other hand, the mugwort latte wasn't bad either, and its herbal notes were right up my alley! The staff at the café is genuinely kind and welcoming. Inside, there's ample seating with WiFi access and even some outlets, which is a plus for remote work or studying. They also have outdoor seating, but it was scorching hot, so understandably, nobody was out there. Overall, it's a great spot with a variety of options to enjoy, both indoors and outdoors!

Delicious coffee. At 1st I was skeptical about this place due to its location, however, I took a change on it and I did not regret it. It was a great coffee. I got the bannana latte iced 16oz. It was great! I'll definitely be back

Oct 2025 I've visited this location a few times, usually in the middle of a northern CA - southern CA road trip. Fun breads and snacks. Creative scones and cookies flavors and yummy chubby cheesecake. Signage is easy to read. Super friendly staff. There's a quiet seating area inside and a fun patio seating area outside. Will definitely visit again.

All the pastries here are so creative and I love their branding!! Such a cute tiger mascot. They also have coffee here that I haven't tried too much of but so far their cappuccino was solid.
